US-Saudi aggression uses war prisoners as political card: Yemeni official

The head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, affirmed keenness to free war prisoners in the US-Saudi aggression prisons.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, affirmed keenness to free war prisoners in the US-Saudi aggression prisons.

"We feel for the suffering of the are prisoners and their families, so we were keen to make ultimate concessions for their release, but the problem is the other party," he said. He noted that "the pro US-Saudi Aggression party does not care about its prisoners, and they do not view their suffering and the suffering of their families with humanitarian eyes. They look at the prisoners' issue, purely as part of a political or military agenda. This view of the countries of aggression and their mercenaries is the biggest obstacle preventing the total release of the prisoners, as a humanitarian issue."

He added, "we will not live in peace as long as our war prisoners in the prisons of the aggression and I reassure their families that we will do everything we can to liberate them."

With regard to the aggression, siege and economic conditions in the country, he explained that there is an American-Israeli agenda in which they are working to implement through the aggression, stressing that Yemenis will not accept any demands that do not meet their aspiration and are not at the level of the sacrifices they have made.
